Good numbers of Brown Argus and Small Copper around this morning. Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown are increasing, and the large numbers of Chalkhill Blue are beginning to tail off.
New insects for the summer were Long-legged Plant Bug (Phytocoris varipes), Alder Spittlebug (Aphrophora alni), Red-tailed Bumblebee (Bombus lapidarius) and Spotted Wolf Spider (Pardosa amentata), the latter a female carrying an egg sac.
Other insects photographed were a pale form adult Brassica Bug (Eurydema oleracea), Common Red Ant (Myrmica rubra) and returning to the oak leaf with the Sputnik Spider (Paidiscura pallens) egg sacs I managed a close-up photo showing the female spider with the egg sacs.
Latest flower is Hedge Mustard (Sisymbrium officinale).
