A surprisingly large number of Small Copper still, which is by far the dominant butterfly, with a few Small White and Meadow Brown.
New species added were a Sycamore Moth (Acronicta aceris) caterpillar, Diamond-back Marble (Eudemis profundana) moth, Oak Borer (Agrilus angustulus) beetle and Sallow Gall Midge (Iteomyia capreae) galls on Salix sp. leaf.
I finally managed to get some decent European Hornet (Vespa crabro) photos after watching one mostly in flight, sometimes hovering and very briefly landing. It took over 120 photos on burst mode to get the 3 that I have posted!
Other photos taken were Common Tachinid (Tachina fera) fly, White-lipped Snail (Cepaea hortensis) and Kite-tailed Robberfly (Machimus atricapillus).
Common Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) and Common Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) are both bearing lots of berries.
