Two new insects today, a Mother of Pearl moth (Patania ruralis) and a Silver Birch Aphid (Euceraphis betulae), as well as leaf mines on a birch leaf caused by larvae of the Birch Tortrix (Epinotia immundana) moth and on oak leaves caused by larvae of the Oak Cloud (Acrocercops brongniardella) moth and a Stigmella sp. moth.
My posts on galls and leaf mines so far may give the impression that you will only find one type on a leaf or indeed a tree. This is far from the truth, however, and today I took photos of a lime leaf with two different galls and an oak tree that in one small part of the tree shows 4 different galls and a leaf mine.
